About Fairview School Kuala Lumpur

Fairview School Kuala Lumpur traces its roots to 1978, giving it nearly five decades of continuous operation. The Wangsa Maju campus is the flagship of the Fairview group, which now runs additional campuses in Subang Jaya, Penang, Ipoh, and Johor Bahru. Across all campuses, the group enrols roughly 3,000 students.

Fairview was among the early adopters of the International Baccalaureate in Malaysia, and the KL campus has built its reputation around the IB inquiry-based model. Class sizes are capped at 24, which is smaller than most government schools and comparable to other IB schools in the Klang Valley.

Curriculum at Fairview School Kuala Lumpur

The KL campus offers the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for younger students and the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) for secondary. Both programmes are authorised by the International Baccalaureate Organisation and follow the IB framework of transdisciplinary inquiry.

In the PYP, students explore six transdisciplinary themes through units of inquiry rather than isolated subjects. The MYP extends this into eight subject groups with a stronger emphasis on conceptual understanding and global contexts. Students looking to continue to the IB Diploma Programme can do so at other Fairview campuses or transfer to IB DP schools in KL.
