Garden International School traces its history to 1951, making it one of the longest-running private schools in Malaysia. Taylor’s Education Group operates the school across two Kuala Lumpur campuses: the Early Years Centre in Desa Sri Hartamas and the main Primary-through-Sixth-Form campus at Mont Kiara. With around 2,000 students drawn from over 60 nationalities, GIS is the largest private co-educational British school in the country.

The school holds FOBISIA membership and maintains a strong track record at public examinations. In recent cohorts, 68% of A-Level candidates scored A* or A, and 46% of IGCSE entries reached A* or A. Curriculum at Garden International School

GIS follows the English National Curriculum adapted for an international setting. Students progress through Early Years Foundation Stage (ages 3 to 5), Primary Key Stages 1 and 2 (ages 5 to 11), Secondary Key Stages 3 and 4 leading to Cambridge IGCSE (ages 11 to 16), and Sixth Form A-Levels (ages 16 to 18). Both Cambridge International Examinations and Edexcel boards are available at A-Level.

Beyond standard qualifications, GIS runs its own Diploma Programme requiring A-Level results, a portfolio of electives, and Social-Emotional Learning milestones. Four additional languages are available: Mandarin, Spanish, French, and Malay. An Apple Distinguished School since 2025, GIS integrates technology across all year groups.

Admissions at Garden International School

GIS operates year-round rolling admissions. The academic calendar runs from mid-August through late June. Applicants complete an online form at apply.gardenschool.edu.my, submit passport-size photographs and previous school records, and attend an age-appropriate assessment.
