About IGB International School

IGB International School (IGBIS) sits on the Sierramas estate in Sungai Buloh, roughly 14 km north of Kuala Lumpur city centre. The school holds a distinction that no other school in Malaysia can claim: it is the only institution authorised to deliver all four International Baccalaureate programmes. While many IB schools offer the Diploma Programme and perhaps one or two others, IGBIS runs the full continuum from PYP through MYP, DP, and the Career-related Programme (CP).

The school was developed by IGB Corporation, one of Malaysia’s established property groups. The campus was purpose-built for IB education and is set within the low-density Sierramas residential enclave. Class sizes are capped at 24 across all programmes.

Curriculum at IGB International School

The IB PYP covers early years through primary, using transdisciplinary inquiry themes. Students move into the IB MYP for the middle years, where eight subject groups are taught through conceptual frameworks. At the upper secondary level, students choose between the IB Diploma Programme and the Career-related Programme.

The DP at IGBIS produces strong results: a 96% pass rate and an average score of 34 points, well above the global average of approximately 30. The CP offers a less commonly available pathway that pairs DP courses with career-related studies, suited for students who want to combine academic credentials with practical skills before university or direct employment.

Admissions at IGB International School

IGBIS accepts students from early years (EY1, age 3) through to Year 13 (IB Diploma/CP). Admissions involve an application, interview, and review of previous school records. The academic year runs from August to June.
