About International School of Kuantan

International School of Kuantan (ISK) opened in 1996 in Bandar Indera Mahkota, making it the first fully accredited international school on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Over nearly three decades, ISK has built a track record as the primary international education option for expatriate and local families in Kuantan, particularly those connected to the oil and gas, palm oil, and manufacturing industries in the region.

The school holds triple accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), and the International Baccalaureate Organisation as an IB World School. This combination is rare outside the Klang Valley.

Curriculum at International School of Kuantan

ISK follows a North American educational framework. Elementary students (Kindergarten through Grade 5) study the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), which organises learning around thematic units. Middle School (Grade 6-8) bridges into a subject-specialist model. High School (Grade 9-12) offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses for university-bound students.

The school uses MAP Growth assessments from NWEA to track student progress throughout the year. PSAT and SAT testing are available on campus, giving high schoolers direct access to US college admissions testing without travelling to Kuala Lumpur. English is the medium of instruction across all grade levels.

Registration is a one-time RM 10,000 fee. Re-enrolment costs RM 2,000 per year at each grade advancement. A 5% tuition discount applies from the second child onwards, which reduces the annual bill for families with multiple children enrolled.

Admissions at International School of Kuantan

ISK admits students from Kindergarten (K3, approximately age 3) through Grade 12. New families pay the RM 10,000 registration fee once upon enrolment. The re-enrolment fee of RM 2,000 is due annually for each returning student. A virtual campus tour is available through the school website for families relocating to Kuantan who cannot visit in person.
