About Kolej Tuanku Jaafar

Kolej Tuanku Jaafar (KTJ) was founded in 1991 by the Royal Family of Negeri Sembilan and has operated for over three decades as one of Malaysia’s few British-style boarding schools. The campus sits in the Mantin countryside, removed from urban distractions but still within reach of Seremban (20 minutes) and Kuala Lumpur (45 minutes via the PLUS Expressway).

KTJ holds triple accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS), the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), and the International Baccalaureate Organisation. This combination is shared by only a handful of schools in Malaysia. The school serves a diverse student body drawn from across the country and the region.

Curriculum at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar

KTJ delivers three qualification pathways under one roof. Primary students (ages 4-11) follow the British curriculum as day scholars. Secondary students (ages 11-16) prepare for Cambridge IGCSE examinations. At the Sixth Form level (ages 16-19), students choose between Cambridge A-Levels and the IB Diploma Programme.

• Primary (ages 4-11): British curriculum, day school format. Foundation literacy, numeracy, and specialist subjects.
• Secondary (ages 11-16): Cambridge Lower Secondary progressing to IGCSE. Full boarding.
• Sixth Form (ages 16-19): Cambridge A-Levels or IB Diploma. Full boarding.

The IB Diploma option gives KTJ students access to a global assessment framework alongside Cambridge, widening university recognition. Languages offered include English, Malay, Bahasa Indonesia, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

Admissions at Kolej Tuanku Jaafar

KTJ admits primary students as day scholars and secondary students as boarders. Entry points are Year 7 (secondary), Year 10 (IGCSE), and Year 12 (Sixth Form). Kolej Tuanku Jaafar in Negeri Sembilan
