About Nilai International School

Nilai International School (NIS) has operated in Putra Nilai since 2009, serving Malaysian and international students aged 3 to 17. The campus provides both day and boarding places, making it one of the few Cambridge schools in Negeri Sembilan with residential facilities. Day students receive lunch as part of the tuition package, while boarders receive all three daily meals.

NIS follows the Cambridge International curriculum across primary (Years 1 to 6) and secondary (Years 7 to 11) divisions. The teaching philosophy centres on the individual learner, balancing academic work with sport, creative arts, and community service.

Curriculum at Nilai International School

The primary programme (Years 1 to 6) covers English, Mathematics, Science, ICT, and the humanities alongside Bahasa Melayu and Mandarin options. Students transition into the Cambridge Lower Secondary structure at Year 7, then choose their IGCSE subject combination from Year 10.

NIS reports a focus on practical learning across age groups. Science laboratories, IT suites, and outdoor education are built into the timetable rather than offered only as extras. The boarding environment extends learning beyond the classroom through supervised study sessions and evening activities.

Fees at Nilai International School

Boarding fees are separate. Full boarding in a twin-sharing room costs RM 18,900 per year; a single room is RM 24,900 per year. Weekday boarding ranges from RM 15,000 (twin) to RM 19,500 (single). Books, uniforms, and external examination fees are not included in tuition.

Admissions at Nilai International School

NIS accepts applications for Year 1 through Year 11. Entry requires a completed application form, previous school records, and a placement assessment covering academic readiness and English proficiency. The application fee is RM 1,000 and the enrolment fee is RM 2,000, both non-refundable.

A refundable deposit equal to one term’s tuition is payable on acceptance. International students needing a student pass pay an admin charge of RM 1,000; guardian pass processing costs RM 1,650. Medical insurance of approximately RM 1,000 is compulsory. Transport to and from school costs RM 150 per month for those who use the bus service.
