Sekolah Ekspatriat Melaka, commonly known as Malacca Expatriate School (MES), has served the international community in Melaka since 1980. That makes it the longest-running expatriate school in the state, with over four decades of continuous operation. MES is a Cambridge International Examinations centre offering the British curriculum from primary through secondary levels.

The school maintains low student-to-teacher ratios, which allows for more individual attention per student than is typical at larger international schools. English is the sole medium of instruction. MES is co-educational, admitting boys and girls from Year 1 (age 6) through Year 11 (age 17).

Years 1 to 6 cover core subjects including English, Mathematics, and Science, alongside Humanities, ICT, Art, Music, and Physical Education. Years 7 to 9 broaden the subject range and introduce additional sciences and language options. In Years 10 and 11, students select their IGCSE subject combination from the options available at MES.

The academic year runs from September to July, following the British calendar. This differs from the January-to-December cycle used by Malaysian national schools and many other private schools in the country.
