Sekolah Menengah Abedeen is the secondary division of Abedeen Academy in Cyberjaya, Selangor. The school serves students from Form 1 to Form 5 (ages 13 to 17). It is one of three schools under the Abedeen group, alongside Sekolah Rendah Abedeen (KSSR primary, SMIPS code BDAI002) and Abedeen International School (Cambridge IGCSE and A-Levels, SMIPS code BUBI003). All three share the same campus at The Promenade, Garden Residensi, Cyber 3.

SM Abedeen follows the Malaysian national KSSM curriculum while incorporating Cambridge International elements into the programme. This dual-track approach gives students the Malaysian SPM qualification pathway with additional international assessment exposure. Class sizes are kept between 16 and 20 students.

Curriculum at Sekolah Menengah Abedeen

SM Abedeen follows the KSSM curriculum endorsed by MOE Malaysia. The KSSM framework places increased emphasis on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) while continuing to develop students’ humanitarian, spiritual, physical, and emotional competencies.

Core subjects include Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Islamic Studies (Muslim students) or Moral Education, and additional electives. The school uses English for Mathematics and Science instruction under the Dual Language Programme (DLP) approach, which complements the Cambridge International components integrated into the timetable.

Graduates of SM Abedeen sit for the SPM examination at the end of Form 5. Students who wish to switch to the Cambridge IGCSE pathway can transfer to Abedeen International School on the same campus, subject to assessment.

Admissions at Sekolah Menengah Abedeen

SM Abedeen admits students into Form 1 through Form 5. The main intake is in January each year, aligning with the Malaysian school calendar. Mid-year transfers are considered subject to availability.

The Abedeen Academy group uses the ALBAB online enrolment system at albab.abedeen.edu.my. Required documents include the student’s birth certificate, previous school records, and passport-size photographs.
