Sekolah Menengah Seri Cahaya in Shah Alam is the private national secondary school at R.E.A.L Schools Cahaya Campus. The campus was established in 1999 in Seksyen U9, Shah Alam, and has operated continuously since then. R.E.A.L Schools is part of XCL Education, which also operates R.E.A.L campuses in Cheras and Johor Bahru.

The Shah Alam campus houses both SM Seri Cahaya (KSSM national curriculum) and REAL International School Shah Alam (UK national curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE). Both streams share campus facilities. The campus serves families across western Selangor, including Shah Alam, Klang, and Setia Alam.

SM Seri Cahaya follows the Malaysian national curriculum (KSSM) from Form 1 to Form 5, with students sitting for SPM at the end of Form 5. The school applies R.E.A.L’s active-learning methodology, which supplements the national syllabus with student-centred teaching approaches including project-based learning and collaborative work.

Core subjects follow the standard KSSM spread: Bahasa Melayu, English, Mathematics, Science, History, Islamic Studies or Moral Education, and electives. The school offers English-enhanced instruction, placing emphasis on building English proficiency alongside the national curriculum requirements.
