Sekolah Menengah Stella Maris Pudu was established in 1997 as the first private school under Yayasan Tan Sri Dominic Vendargon, a Catholic educational foundation. The school is adjacent to the Church of St. Anthony in Pudu, central Kuala Lumpur. While rooted in Catholic values, SM Stella Maris welcomes students of all faiths.

Academic results are strong across both tracks. Over the past decade, 41% of SPM students have achieved 5As or more. The 2023 IGCSE cohort recorded a 100% pass rate, with 15% achieving 8 A*/A grades and 53% scoring 5 or more A*/A. Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint results showed 99% of students at Outstanding, High, or Good grade levels. The school offers academic and sports scholarships covering up to 100% of tuition.

Curriculum at Sekolah Menengah Stella Maris

SM Stella Maris follows the Malaysian National Curriculum (KSSM) for Form 1 through Form 5, with students sitting for SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia) at the end of Form 5. Science and Mathematics are taught in English under the Dual Language Programme, while other subjects follow the standard KSSM framework in Bahasa Melayu.

SM Stella Maris also offers Cambridge IGCSE as a parallel track. Students study 8 IGCSE subjects in school and may sit for additional subjects externally. For Malay language, students can choose to sit for IGCSE Malay only (no SPM Bahasa Melayu requirement). Mandarin is offered as a second language throughout all form levels. Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint is taken at Form 3.

School hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Friday 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM. The academic year starts in January across three terms. Intake assessments are held in July (in-person only).
