Sekolah Rendah Sri Cempaka in Cheras is the original campus of the Cempaka Schools group, founded by Dato’ Freida Pilus in 1983. With over four decades of operation, Cempaka is one of the longest-established private school brands in the Klang Valley. The group also operates a campus in Damansara Heights.

The Cheras campus houses both the national and international divisions across primary and secondary levels. SR Sri Cempaka serves students from age 3 through age 18, with instruction primarily in English, Malay, and Finnish (for the Finnish Curriculum track).

Curriculum at Sekolah Rendah Sri Cempaka

SR Sri Cempaka runs dual streams. The national stream follows the KSSR national curriculum with MOE-mandated subjects delivered in an English-medium environment. The international stream offers multiple pathways: Cambridge IGCSE, A-Levels, IB Diploma, and a Finnish Curriculum track.

The Finnish Curriculum track is a distinctive feature. Cempaka is one of the few schools in Malaysia to integrate the Finnish educational model, which emphasises student wellbeing, reduced testing, and inquiry-based learning.

The school holds CIS (Council of International Schools), COBIS (Council of British International Schools), and IB World School accreditation, reflecting the breadth of its international programme offerings.
