Subang Jaya has 14 registered private schools: 11 international, two private secondary, and one private primary. It is a city that punches above its weight in education. The Sunway and Taylor’s university campuses anchor the area’s identity as an education hub, and the school-level market follows suit. Four schools have published fee data, with annual tuition ranging from RM 18,900 to RM 130,000. That top figure is the highest outside Kuala Lumpur and makes Subang Jaya’s premium tier genuinely expensive.

Private school curricula in Subang Jaya

Cambridge IGCSE, delivered through Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE), is available at eight of the 14 schools. Three continue with A-Levels and two offer the IB Diploma Programme. The numbers are smaller than in Shah Alam or PJ, but the quality benchmarks are high. SRI KDU International School (Subang Jaya) has a campus here, UCSI International School operates in the Springhill area, and Sunway International School draws on its parent group’s education infrastructure.

Subang Jaya does not have the curriculum variety of KL (no expatriate schools, no German or Japanese tracks), but for families committed to the Cambridge or British pathway, there is enough choice to compare meaningfully between campuses.

Private school fees in Subang Jaya

The RM 130,000 ceiling is an outlier. It represents the senior-year tuition at Subang Jaya’s most premium campus, and most families will not be looking at that bracket. The practical range for most international schools here is RM 20,000 to RM 60,000, which puts Subang Jaya in line with Petaling Jaya. The private primary and secondary schools are more affordable, typically under RM 15,000 for national-curriculum programmes.

What makes Subang Jaya’s fee picture interesting is the spread within a small area. You can find a Year 7 place for RM 20,000 and another for RM 80,000 within a 10-minute drive. The difference is usually campus scale, teacher-to-student ratio, and extracurricular breadth rather than a fundamentally different academic outcome. Visit both before deciding. Choosing a private school in Subang Jaya

Subang Jaya benefits from some of the best public transport in the Klang Valley. The LRT Kelana Jaya line runs through the city (SS15, SS18, USJ 7 stations), the KTM Komuter stops at Subang Jaya and Batu Tiga, and the BRT Sunway Line connects Subang Jaya to the Sunway area. For secondary students old enough to commute alone, this is a real advantage, as it opens up school choices that would be impractical in car-dependent cities like Klang or Seri Kembangan.

The Subang Jaya / USJ area is compact. Most schools are within 15 minutes of each other, which means you can realistically visit three or four campuses in a single day during open-house season. Take advantage of that proximity. School websites tell you about curriculum and fees; only a campus visit tells you about culture and fit.
